Biden tells Trump appointees to resign from military academies’ boards

The Biden administration has asked appointees from the Trump administration to resign from advisory boards for U.S. military academies or face dismissal, White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed to reporters on Wednesday. “The president’s objective is what any president’s objective is — to ensure you have nominees and people serving on these boards who are qualified to serve on them, and who are aligned with your values,” she said. “I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified or not political to serve on these boards.” The advisory boards include those for West Point, the Air Force Academy and the Naval Academy. Some Trump appointees have signaled they won’t resign, with Conway tweeting: “President Biden, I’m not resigning, but you should.”
